We’ve all stumbled across a troll now and then when it comes to writing. As someone who has been directly called out multiple times- not only for being young, but for being confident- I’d like to say a few things:
Writing is difficult enough without people trying to feed their ego by diminishing your confidence. I see bloggers in their twenties who have the audacity to criticize my writing, blog, and novel, while their own writing is subpar. That’s simply immature.
Be confident about your work. Being confident is thrilling and calming at the same time. You live life a little easier when you’re not stressing about what people think.
I’m not saying that we should pretend we’re perfect. We’re not. I’ve been working on the same book for two years and I still catch myself stuttering over which “there” to use. I’m just saying that we should allow ourselves to be happy while we strive for perfection.

You trolls! Keep your thoughts to yourself. I’m hoping anyone that’s writing, is writing because they enjoy it. Who do you think you are telling me I shouldn’t be a little confident? Who cares that I’m sixteen? I’m enjoying every bit of the writing process. If you don’t like something you read, then don’t read any more of it. Don’t call the author out on an opinion you have of their work. More often than not, you know nothing about that author.
No one’s forcing you trolls to read anything.
Hence, enjoy what you do people. Don’t let a troll in the dungeon get you down.
